King and Snohomish sides of Bothell

Appliance repair across Bothell, north and south of the county line

Bothell spans two counties, draws water from more than one system and runs from post-war houses to new downtown apartments. From central Lynnwood we reach it in about 12 to 22 minutes, Canyon Park at the short end and Main Street at the long end.

Bothell is really several towns sharing a name. The old river town around Main Street turned into a commuter suburb once I-405 opened in 1968; office parks rose in North Creek and Canyon Park through the 1980s and 1990s, and Canyon Park itself joined the city by annexation in 1992. Then came the surge: the population grew by more than 40 percent over the 2010s, and the state's 2026 estimate is 52,010 people, 31,480 of them in King County and 20,530 in Snohomish County. Roughly four homes in ten were built in 2000 or after, and about a third more during the 1980s and 1990s. The biotech employers that make Bothell the second-largest biotech hub in Washington also draw renters, and rental appliances change hands, and habits, every time a lease turns over.

For appliances, that history means almost every age and layout turns up within a few miles. A post-war kitchen near downtown, a builder laundry room in North Creek, a stacked washer in a large apartment building and a compact range in a manufactured home can all land on the same day's route. Your utilities depend on your address too, so we ask which water and power companies send you bills; it helps us read the symptoms. We cover the whole city plus Thrasher's Corner, Bothell East, Bothell West and the edges toward Maltby, with no distance surcharge, and a request made early in the day, Monday to Saturday, can often be seen that same day.

Bothell, neighborhood by neighborhood

Canyon Park and North Creek

Snohomish County addresses on Alderwood district water and PUD power, closest to us in drive time. Business parks from the 1980s and 1990s came first, then subdivisions and apartments whose builder dishwashers, washers and French-door refrigerators are now old enough for pumps, locks and boards to fail.

Downtown, Main Street and the campus

Some 1,300 apartments and townhomes were added downtown by 2020, and student rentals cluster near the campus UW Bothell shares with Cascadia College. Expect stacked laundry, compact dishwashers and machines shared by several roommates, which wear out locks and suspension far sooner than a couple's would.

Older streets on the King County side

Post-war and 1960s–70s houses near downtown and on the surrounding hills, on Tolt water and PSE power. Kitchens here have often been remodeled around original wiring, so a range or dryer fault sometimes traces back to a tired receptacle, which we test before blaming the appliance.

Manufactured-home communities

Manufactured and mobile homes make up about 6 percent of the city's housing and closer to 7 percent in Bothell West. Laundry closets are narrow, floors are lighter, and dryer exhaust has to reach past the skirting to open air. Appliances are often compact sizes, so parts and replacements need careful matching, and the model label is worth reading to us before the visit.

Two counties, three water suppliers, two power companies

Bothell's water source changes from one part of town to another. The city's own utility has bought from Seattle's Tolt River supply since 1963, which tests between about 1.2 and 1.4 grains per gallon. Canyon Park and North Creek instead receive Everett water through the Alderwood district, nearer 0.7 grains, and the Northshore Utility District fills in other pockets. Every one of those sources is soft, so detergent dosing matters more than scale. Electricity comes from PSE south of the county line and Snohomish County PUD north of it, and both utilities were swamped by the November 2024 bomb cyclone, with outages topping 400,000 PSE customers and 70,000 on the PUD system. Bothell also lies inside the Puget Sound convergence zone, so damp air and extra rain keep laundry machines busy and slow anything that has to dry.

The Bothell repairs we make most

Front-load washers with musty boots and slow drains lead the list, a direct product of convergence-zone dampness and closed laundry closets. Next come dryers in shared rentals that run nearly nonstop, then electronic controls on refrigerators and ranges that never fully recovered after the 2024 storm. Dishwashers in the newer townhomes, often leaking from a fill or drain connection into the unit below, round it out, with a steady line of ice makers in the post-2000 houses of Bothell East. Washer repair here begins at $239; read that as a starting line, not a quote, because your exact figure is settled in writing after the diagnostic.

Common questions

Do you serve both the King County and Snohomish County parts of Bothell?

Yes, the whole city on either side of the line, plus Bothell East, Bothell West, Thrasher's Corner and the area toward Maltby. The diagnostic fee and starting prices are the same everywhere, with no distance surcharge. Canyon Park is the quickest drive from Lynnwood; downtown and the southern hills take a little longer, especially when I-405 is busy.

Who do we call about a gas smell or a power outage in Bothell?

For any gas odor, get out of the house first, then reach PSE or 911 from outdoors; PSE supplies gas throughout the city. For outages, King County addresses generally call PSE and Snohomish County addresses call Snohomish County PUD. Once power or gas is restored, call us if an appliance still misbehaves.

Do you repair appliances in manufactured homes?

We do. Bothell has more manufactured homes than most towns around Lynnwood, and their washers, dryers, ranges, refrigerators and dishwashers use the same kinds of parts as any other. We take extra care moving machines on lighter floors, check supply lines before disconnecting them, and make sure dryer exhaust leaves the home rather than ending under it.

We rent near the UW Bothell campus. Can you work with our landlord?

Yes. When you book, tell us who owns the unit or manages the building and who will let your technician in. Our written estimate can go to the owner or manager for approval, and nothing starts until someone with authority says yes. Tenants are welcome to be home for the visit and hear what we found.
