Six appliances we repair at home

Kitchen and laundry machines, gas or electric, standard or built-in. Pick one to see the usual faults and how we deal with them.

Refrigerator & freezer repair

Every layout of fridge and freezer, built-ins and garage freezers included: warm sections, frost on the back panel, puddles under the crisper, clicking relays.

from $259

Washer repair

Front-loaders, top-loaders and stacked laundry centers that won't drain, spin, lock or fill, plus door gaskets that hold a sour smell through our wet winters.

from $239

Dryer repair

Gas and electric dryers that tumble without heat, squeal, shut off early or need two cycles. We check the vent run, which in many apartments is long.

from $229

Oven, range & cooktop repair

Gas and electric cooking, from wall ovens to slide-in ranges and cooktops: dead bake elements, slow igniters, sensors that misread, surface burners stuck on high.

from $255

Dishwasher repair

Standing water, cold dry cycles, door leaks and cloudy glassware. On our soft water, too much detergent often causes the film people blame on the machine.

from $249

Ice maker repair

Ice makers in the freezer or the door: no cubes, small or hollow ones, a jammed ejector arm, or a fill valve that hums and stays dry.

from $289

How we work in your home

01

Written price, then your call

Testing comes first. Then your technician writes out what failed and what the fix costs, and the screwdrivers stay in the bag until you approve it. Say no, and the diagnostic visit is all you pay.

02

Common parts on board

Door switches, drain pumps, igniters, bake elements, defrost heaters and inlet valves ride along in the vehicle, which lets many jobs wrap up during the first stop instead of a return trip.

03

Morning calls, same-day visits

Monday through Saturday, a call that reaches us in the morning usually turns into a visit that day. Sundays we're closed; the booking form holds your request until we can phone you.

04

Clear about our limits

Compressor and refrigerant work, commercial refrigeration, furnaces, air conditioners, microwaves and countertop gadgets are jobs we don't take on. If the diagnosis points there, we tell you on the spot and help you weigh repair against replacement.

What the first visit costs

A diagnostic visit is $95. When you approve the repair, that $95 is credited toward it; when you don't, it is the only charge. Washer repairs start at $239 and refrigerator repairs at $259. Treat those as floors rather than a quote, since the exact figure is whatever your technician writes on the estimate after testing. Seniors 65+, veterans and active-duty military households can knock up to $18 off the repair. Have a second appliance checked during the same visit, and its diagnostic drops by $10.

Where the name comes from

Scriber Lake is the small lake inside Scriber Lake Park, a wetland refuge of about 22 to 25 acres in central Lynnwood. Ponds, streams and forest trails surround it, and a boardwalk of roughly 1,100 feet leads out to viewpoints and a floating dock. It sits close to the spot we use to measure every drive time on this site.

The lake once carried a settler's name. Peter Schreiber, born in Denmark in 1859, claimed a 160-acre homestead here in 1888, and the water on the northeast corner of that claim became Schreiber's Lake; the spelling eased into Scriber over time. A repair business owned and run from Lynnwood seemed a natural fit for that name.

Common questions

Can you come today?

Often, yes. Monday through Saturday we keep room for same-day visits, and the odds improve when you reach us in the morning by phone or through the booking form. Later requests usually land on the next open day. We're closed on Sundays, though the form still accepts a request and we call back once we reopen.

What do I get for the $95 diagnostic?

Your technician runs the appliance, reads any fault code, checks the outlet, breaker and supply, and tests the suspect components with a meter. You then get a written estimate naming the failed part and the repair price. Approve it and the $95 is credited to the repair. Decline it and that fee covers the visit with nothing more owed.

Who qualifies for up to $18 off?

Households of seniors 65 and older, veterans, and active-duty service members. The amount comes off the repair itself; the diagnostic stays at its usual price. Tick the box on the booking form or mention it during the call, and your technician shows the reduction on the written estimate before you decide anything.

Does it cost more to reach Everett or Kenmore?

No. Every town on our list pays the same diagnostic and the same repair prices, whether you live a few blocks from Scriber Lake or out past Silver Lake in south Everett. Drive time affects when we can arrive, not what you pay. If you're unsure whether your street is inside the area, give us your ZIP code.

My appliance quit after a power outage. Is it worth a call?

Usually. Storms like the November 2024 windstorm, which cut power to more than 70,000 Snohomish PUD customers, end with surges that can damage control boards and sensors. Before calling, check the breaker and switch the appliance off for a minute to reset it. If it still won't respond, a board, fuse or relay is often to blame, and those are repairs we handle.

Do you repair gas ranges and gas dryers?

Yes, gas and electric both: igniters, valves, thermal fuses, flame sensors and the controls around them. One firm rule first: if you smell gas near the range or dryer, leave the house, then call PSE or 911 from outside. Don't flip switches on the way out. Once the utility has cleared the house, we can find the fault and repair it.

Something not working?

Call (425) 287-5458 or book online in a few minutes. The $95 diagnostic goes toward any repair you approve, and seniors 65+, veterans and military households save up to $18 on the repair.
